If you read all the way through my last post, then you probably saw me mention that I was thinking about changing the name of my blog. You see, when I first started the blog, I wasn’t really sure that I’d want to keep up with it. I’d had the idea to start one as far back as a year ago, but I just didn’t really know if it would be fun or if I’d have the time. So, when I had to make the name for the blog, I sat there for about 10 minutes, thinking about something that would make sense until I landed on BookSMore.
I don’t even like chocolate, but the image of a smore with a book at the center was oddly satisfying, so I was excited. But, turns out that address was already taken. As were the eight million other variations and other names that I tried. I was angry. It was past midnight. I was ready to go to sleep and I had now been trying to get a name for over an hour.
Then I popped in BooksPlusMore and discovered that the name was available. It made sense. I mostly wanted to talk about books, but still have the chance to throw in some random articles on occasion. It was a little bit bland, felt a little bit corporate, but give me a break, it was creeping towards one in the morning and I needed a solution.
And with this inauspicious beginning, BooksPlusMore was born. Very early on I realized that I loved it. It’s the perfect outlet that sits right on the intersection of my love of reading and my need to write words in a somewhat coherent progression. But, still, BooksPlusMore just doesn’t quite feel like me. So, assuming everything goes according to plan, the name of my blog is going to be changing on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be a smooth transition and all of my lovely followers will barely even notice. If not, well…I don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see how this all shakes out. But, if you see the blog’s web address change, don’t be alarmed. It’s just my neurotic attempt to answer the difficult questions of life.
It’s okay. We’ll figure this out.
